Market Explorer · for buyers, operators and their advisors
Every surgery center in the country, as a market map.
6,640 Medicare-certified centers: installed operating rooms, certified specialty mix, the enrolled operator and how many centers it runs, what each publishes about quality — and 2024 Medicare volume for 5,140 of them. Filter it, sort it, export it.
Sold in six-month blocks, paid up front. A year costs less than two blocks either way — $8,000 against $12,000 nationally, $2,800 against $3,000 for a single market.

What a survey cannot tell you
Operational benchmarks come from surveys of centers that chose to answer. This is a census of every center Medicare certifies, whether it cooperates or not — including the 1,191 centers that publish nothing at all on quality or patient experience, which no survey can see and no rating covers.
Built for a diligence question
Pick a target and you get its market: every competitor in the metro, their capacity, their Medicare volume, and how concentrated each one's revenue is in a single procedure. That last column is the one that changes a valuation.
Built from federal records — the Provider of Services file, ASCQR, OAS CAHPS, Medicare enrollment, and Medicare Physician & Other Practitioners. Nothing is scored, weighted or ranked by us. Medicare figures are fee-for-service only and exclude any procedure billed for fewer than 11 patients, so they are floors, not totals.

Read the Medicare columns as floors. Traditional Medicare only — no Medicare Advantage, no commercial, no self-pay — and CMS suppresses any procedure billed for fewer than 11 patients. Where a center is marked shared, one operator bills several sites under a single NPI and the figure is the group's, not that site's. Capacity, specialties and operator come from the Provider of Services and Medicare enrollment files; quality and patient experience from ASCQR and OAS CAHPS. Nothing here is scored, weighted or ranked by us — you are sorting federal records.
